TV Guide Online: Tonight we are chatting with Catherine McCord
from the MTV show Loveline. Thanks for coming to chat Catherine.
McCord: Hi! Anything that anyone wants to ask me -- DON'T BE
SHY! It's honestly just a regular type thing. I talk about love with my
friends all day every day. People always want to talk about their
relationships and it's not much different than talking to your friends
Question: Have you learned a lot being on the show?
McCord: I've learned an incredible amount! Dr. Drew and Adam are a
wealth of knowledge! Their experience has seeped into my brain. And
you learn a lot from the people that I talk to on the show everyday.
Question: I THINK YOUR GREAT! I ALWAYS WATCH YOUR
SHOW. WHAT EVER CONVINCED YOU TO JOIN THE
SHOW?
McCord: It was my favorite show since it went on the show four years
ago SO when they were looking for a new host, I knew it was meant
for me. I have the best job in the world I get to sit and talk about sex
and drugs and life all day! And I get paid for it!
Question: Who is the funniest on the set?
McCord: Hmm.. Let's think about it...ME! I'm the funniest! No.. I'd
say Adam, although when Drew rips out a funny line it's hysterical.
Question: What's it like being the female balance to Adam and Dr.
Drew?
McCord: I do feel that I do fit right in the middle of them! I'm the
best
chocolate icing on the cake! They are layer one and layer two, and that
makes me FUDGE icing, which is my favorite...
Question: Do you have a lot of practice giving advice?
McCord: I've been modeling since I was 13, and I've met people
everyday. I felt that I had a decent amount of experience to share.
Question: Who was your favorite celebrity that has appeared on the
show?
McCord: I loved Jerry Springer. I also did Politically Incorrect with
him. Although his show seems smutty, he himself gives off a decent
message. Hmm.. let me look at my tapes. This is so funny! I have all my
tapes here! Tom Green! Hysterical! I love him! What great energy! I
loved Kelis! She's so crazy! I loved Rob Scheider! I loved
Smashmouth! They were crazy! But there was one girl who was on the
show... she was so catty! I did not love her!
Question: Do you have any pets?
McCord: Yes, I have a five-month-old puppy named Roscoe. After
Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, which is the best! He's getting HUGE!
Question: What’s it like working with Drew Pinsky? Do you ever ask
him for medical advice?
McCord: OHMIGOD -- yeah! Believe it nor not, I have a lot of
friends who need a lot of help...and Drew has given me so much advice
for them. All my Friends always call me. That Drew -- he's just a wealth
of knowledge! And then there's Adam.
Question: What is your favorite thing to cook? Do you cook an
elaborate Thanksgiving every year?
McCord: I actually collect cookbooks -- I have over, wow 500
probably? My mother couldn't cook at all. I love, love, love cooking.
All my friends know if they want a good meal, they come here. I have
about a 40 people over for Thanksgiving every year! And I ALWAYS
have a chocolate cake at my house. BTW I'm going to the Laker game
tonight.
Question: Do you ever listen to the radio show and what do you think
of it?
McCord: I listen to the radio show two to three days a week I love
the
radio show! I actually like the radio show more, because they can get
more in depth because they have more time... even though we don't
mess around. We're like, what's your problem??? There's pretty easy
psychology to a lot of people's problems.
Question: I am seeing a married man he tells me he loves me and he's
very convincing. I don't know what to do. I can't keep myself from
talking to him. Please help.
McCord: How old are you? How old is he? Does he have kids? I need
to know these things. Generically, a girl who is having an affair with a
married man is looking for chaos. And I have no respect for people
who have affairs with married men. If you don't want to be in the affair,
you just cut it off. She is in control. He is not. And every time she talks
to him, she's setting the clock back. She's starting the chaos all over
again. I was asking about the age because a lot of girls are looking for a
father figure so they'll look for a married man. And with the kids... it
spins me out when people have kids and are sleeping around. I can't get
that, you have to think of your kids first. Your kids look to you as to
how they're supposed to live your own lives. My parents were a good
role model for me.
Question: Do people random people approach you differently now
that you are associated with Loveline?
McCord: Well, people come up to me on the street and they're like,
OHMIGOD it's you! And I'm like, YEAH, it's me. It's like, all of a
sudden, I know something they don't. I don't know what a celebrity
type is, but I'm not it. I don't get starstuck.
Question: Who is your favorite band/singer and what types of music
do you listen to?
McCord: I listen to tons of rap, hip hop, dance music...I like all
types
of music. I love Esthero, Moby the new one's in the car! I love Dave
Matthews! I love Kid Rock! I love TLC! I've even been known to
listen to N'Sync and Backstreet Boys...Oh, they're all messed up! We
could work them all over! In this world, there’s no one person who
does not have a serious issue. There is no such thing as perfection!
Sometimes, we have guests on, and we think that we should skip the
questions and just focus on the guests. Some of them are so brilliant and
well spoken.
TV Guide Online: Thanks for chatting with us tonight, Catherine.
McCord: Everyone can send me any kind of e-mail that you like --
Ask me questions and the like -- Send it to me care of MTV and I'll get
back to you...And GO LAKERS! I'll try to come back sometime soon!
Good night! Thanks! Keep Watching!
